We’re excited to announce the launch of the LEAP Digital Health Community Innovators scheme, a new initiative designed to bring community voices to the heart of digital health innovation.
This scheme invites individuals and groups with lived experience, grassroots knowledge, or deep community connections to submit real-world health and wellbeing challenges that could benefit from digital approaches. These challenges will form the foundation of a collaborative sandpit event, where selected Community Innovators will work alongside researchers, NHS staff, and industry partners to explore and co-develop potential solutions.
What’s involved?
Successful applicants whose challenges are selected will:
- Be paired with a LEAP researcher to develop their idea or challenge
- Take part in a one-day sandpit event with cross-sector collaborators
- Share their insights and help shape ideas for future digital health projects
- Be part of a growing network focused on inclusive, community-led innovation
This is a unique opportunity to ensure that digital health solutions are grounded in the realities and priorities of communities themselves.

Please note: This application is only for Community Innovators. Academics, NHS colleagues, and industry partners will be invited to participate in the sandpit event separately.
