Artem Shmatko (DKFZ German Cancer Research Center)

Delphi: learning the natural history of human disease with generative transformers

Artem Shmatko is a PhD student in the AI in Oncology division in DKFZ German Cancer Research Center, led by Moritz Gerstung. His talk will explore how Delphi can model human health trajectories. As an autoregressive transformer model, Delphi can sample entire health trajectories diagnosis after diagnosis, providing meaningful estimates of future disease burden for up to 20 years into the future.

The Digital Health Seminar Series is a collaboration between LEAP Digital Health Hub and the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Digital Health and Care at the University of Bristol.

A focus group to co-design a course on Artificial Intelligence for healthcare professionals

In December 2024, we held a focus group to support the development of a course on AI for healthcare for professionals. Participants were invited to help the Hub create course content guided by actual needs. Sign up to our mailing list for updates about the course.
