Jeff Clark (University of Bristol, IngeniumAI)
Launching a MedTech Spin-Out Company: The Journey from Academia towards Deployment
Jeff Clark is co-founder and CEO of IngeniumAI, a spin-out company from the University of Bath and Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Trust.
In this talk, Jeff will share the journey of turning academic research into the spin-out company IngeniumAI. Originally a postdoctoral research project led by Jeff, IngeniumAI is dedicated to reducing diagnostic delays for uncommon but deadly diseases by harnessing underutilised medical imaging data. The talk will explore key challenges in developing and deploying Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and AI as a Medical Device (AIaMD) products, including funding, regulatory, and market access considerations.

Niall Bourke (King’s College London)
Ultra-low field Neuroimaging in the Young (UNITY): A growing network investigating factors relating to brain development in low-resource settings
Niall is a research fellow at the Centre for Neuroimaging Sciences, King’s College London, focused on paediatric brain development and outcomes following brain injury. During his talk, Niall will be sharing insights into his current work, funded by the Gates Foundation, to support a global network of clinician researchers across Africa and South Asia, building sustainable neuroimaging capacity in low-resource settings.

A focus group to co-design a course on Artificial Intelligence for healthcare professionals
In December 2024, we held a focus group to support the development of a course on AI for healthcare for professionals. Participants were invited to help the Hub create course content guided by actual needs. Sign up to our mailing list for updates about the course.
